- Represented a banking institution in Saudi Arabia on the structuring of both conventional and Shari’ah-compliant investment products which are entirely new to the Saudi market. The value of these investment products is, typically, in the hundreds of millions of Saudi Riyals, with some projects valued at over two-billion Saudi Riyals.
- Represented clients before the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (“SAGIA”) and the Ministry of Commerce, and has assisted clients to form new companies, valued at millions of Saudi Riyals each, under the new Foreign Investment Act, making LFKAN one of the leading experts and pioneers in Saudi Arabia in practicing under the new Foreign Investment Act.
- Represented both Saudi and foreign parties in the formation and licensing of joint ventures, including, prior to the establishment of SAGIA, the handling of applications before the Foreign Capital Investment Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Electricity.
- Worked in association with a U.S.-based international law firm to represent a Saudi client in arbitration before the International Chamber of Commerce in two separate construction matters wherein the total amount in controversy exceeded two hundred million United States dollars (US$200,000,000).
- Worked in conjunction with a U.S.-based international law firm to represent a Saudi client before United Nations Claims Commission against the Iraqi Government, wherein the amount in controversy was over fifty million United States dollars (US$50,000,000).
- Regularly represents clients in various Saudi courts, including airlines, contractors and banks, in complex litigation wherein the amounts in controversy reach into the tens of millions of Saudi Riyals.
- Regularly performs transactional work such as drafting agency agreements, franchise agreements, and distributorship agreements including, but not limited to, negotiating and drafting exclusive distribution agreements with Saudi companies for the distribution of international products in Saudi Arabia.
- Represented and currently represents clients in various arbitration proceedings, both domestically and internationally.
- Represented various Saudi Arabian clients in arbitration before the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).
- Serves as a co-arbitrator in ICC cases.
- Prior to establishing LFKAN, worked for several years in public and private sectors in Saudi Arabia.
